Since different people have different computer limitations and personal preferences, there are multiple ways to send files to Ridgway’s. We have simplified the instructions by categorizing by the sending method. Wherever we note “the Ridgway’s website”, we are referring to www.ridgways.com. If you have any questions about or issues with sending files or placing orders online, you may contact the web department via the web department contact form.

Electronic Work Order
EWO is our primary tool for sending print orders to Ridgway’s. It allows you to pay online via credit card or use your Ridgway's account. New account registrations go through an approval process but existing Ridgway's account users can request a login for automatic access. If you have a PlanWell login, this can be used to login to EWO. The Electronic Work Order is accessed by going to the Ridgway’s website and clicking on the “Place an Order” button in the left menu. A complete EWO user manual is linked on the page. EWO is divided by Ridgway’s location groups. Select the location group, such as “TX: Houston”, and you will be forwarded to the EWO for those locations. On the front page of the main EWO page, there is also a user manual link that will walk you through the process.

Remote Printing with ishipdocs
Ishipdocs is a free order submission tool but does require registration. For clients with a need to print documents at ARC locations other than Ridgway’s, ishipdocs is an application that allows the selection of any of the worldwide ARC locations. To access ishipdocs, click on the ishipdocs button in the Ridgway’s website’s left menu. Once on the ishipdocs page, currently registered ishipdocs customers can click on the link that says “current ishipdoc users click here". New users can select their nearest Ridgway’s location for sign up options. When you sign up, a representative will contact you to assess your needs. Watch a video introduction.

Ridgway’s Send Files Form
There are many reasons why files need to be sent to Ridgway’s. Ridgway’s has made this simple by creating send files forms that upload files and submits orders, without login requirements, directly through the website. It does not matter what browser or computer is being used. Click on the file transfer options button in the left menu of the Ridgway’s website. The file options page has a category called “Send files to a branch”. Select the location group and you are presented with a form to send the files. Some location groups have multiple locations. In those cases, the form will have a locations option that will route the files according to your selection. Then fill out the required and any relevant optional fields, select your files and click on the submit button. If you are using this form for sending an order, there are fields for describing your order. Do not close the form until you get an online confirmation of the uploads. Once the upload is complete, the branch receives links to the files and you will receive an email confirmation. Payment is made with the branch during pick-up or delivery.

Uploading via FTP
Some clients may prefer or have a need for the older FTP method for sending files. We understand this and continue to maintain an FTP option. If the FTP method is used, the branches are not automatically notified when files are uploaded, as happens with EWO, ishipdocs and the send files forms. After files are uploaded, the contact link in the FTP console should be used to notify the branch. To access the FTP option, go to the send files form as outlined in the above section. In the bulleted instructions is a link for the FTP system. Once in the FTP system, select your location. You will be routed to the FTP module specific to the selected location. If you are using Internet Explorer, select the upload option in the selection menu and click on enter. On the next page, you are technically in the FTP. However, Internet Explorer 7 and above requires users to click on Page and then click Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer. Once that is done or if you are using an older Internet Explorer, you can tell when you are in the upload state when the window looks like a regular open folder window. Now, simply drag and drop you files into the window. MAC user and those using browsers other than Internet Explorer need to use an FTP client to upload files. The location specific FTP modules have instructions for these users, as well as the FTP addresses to use. When you upload files, wait for the files to be uploaded before closing the FTP window. For security reasons, you will only see your uploaded files while you have the current window open. You cannot see you files if you close the FTP window then reopen it later. But, the files will be uploaded if you waited until they were fully uploaded before closing the FTP window.

Custom Order Solutions
Some clients have special print ordering or uploading needs that require special ordering methods. Some Ridgway's divisions have the ability to create custom order and upload systems to fit specific needs. Contact your local customer representative if you have custom needs.
